The police in Ekiti State have captured three butchers for purportedly stabbing a stylist, Ajibola Falegan, at a viewing center in Ado Ekiti.

The 33-years of age Falegan and indigene of Erinjiyan Ekiti in Ekiti West nearby government zone of the state, was supposedly assaulted by the attackers at the viewing center situated along Nova street, Baisiri inside the capital city on Wednesday evening.

The suspects are being confined at the Police station situated along new Iyin street in Ado Ekiti after they were captured around 10.30pm on Wednesday.

Falegan, who is currently reaciving treatment at a private hospital in the state, had a profound cut in the head and body while being assaulted by the suspects with cutlasses and knives.

Portraying his ordeal to some journalists on medical clinic bed on Thursday, Falegan said the suspects were having quarrel with a sibling at the viewing center before he arrived just for them to purportedly jumped on him after sighting him at the scene.

He said he passed out when the assailants wounded him in the head and body and possibly regaing consciousness when he got to the hospital.

Falegan included that the assailants supposedly stole his Techno L9+ telephone worth N70,000 and cash of N10,000 amid the assault which he depicted as ridiculous.

“I didn’t have any misunderstanding with any of them before, but we live within the same vicinity.

“I got home around 9.30pm on Wednesday after closing and when I got home, I leant my younger brother was still at the viewing centre and I had to go there to bring him home, because it was already late .

“When I got there, they had an argument with my brother and when I beckoned on him to follow me home, the boys started harassing me .They started by slapping me and caused commotion in the area.

“Later, they started attacking me with cutlasses and knives which they hid under their dresses.

“The viewers at the centre had to run for their lives. There was uproar everywhere and when I ran to escape, they chased me and stabbed me until I fainted before they left.

“As they were doing this, my brother had rushed home to intimate my wife and the two of them went to the police station to affect their arrest,” he stated.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Ekiti Command, DSP Caleb Ikechukwu, who affirmed the occurrence, said the command won’t endure any demonstration of hooliganism and disturbance of open harmony by any individual or gathering.

He said the culprits have been captured and would be charged to court after examinations probably been finished up.

“We are investigating the matter and if they turn out to be culpable, then the law will take its full course. They shall be brought to justice,” he assured.
