Dr. Harold Onumo, a medical practitioner in Imo State has rejected an appointment by Governor Rochas Okorocha.

Onumo, though absent during the inauguration, was appointed as Board Chairman, Imo State Agency for Control of HIV/AIDS, (SACA) by Okorocha earlier this month.

Onumo, a former President General, Imo Youth Assembly said in Owerri yesterday that, there was no basis for him accepting Okorocha’s offer after making the Imo people suffer from poverty through his administration’s harsh policies and programmes.

He restated the unfair treatment of state medical practitioners in the health institutions by the Okorocha’s government as part of reasons for refusing the appointment.

He said that: “Okorocha’s government is a failed government and since inception eight years ago, it has openly shown disdain for due process and I do not think I will want to associate myself with such a government at any level whatsoever.”
