The attorney general of Ethiopia has made it known that over 4000 prisoners are set to be released, as part of the measure the country is taking to curb the spread of corona virus.
Among those set to be released are:
1. Women with babies
2. Those convicted of minor crimes
3. Foreigners whose crime involved smuggling and drug trafficking.
The foreigners, however, will be released and then deported to their countries of origin.
This is not the only move Ethiopia has made in the fight against corona virus; she has also closed her land borders, stipulated a 14-day quarantine period for travellers coming into their country, and ordering most of its employees to stop going to their offices and work from home.
Ethiopia is actively involved in this fight; I hope you are too.
