Ahmadu Fintiri has been declared winner of the Adamawa State supplementary gubernatorial elections.

Fintiri who contested under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) flawed his close rival and incumbent Governor of the State, Jibrilla Bindow of the All Progressives Congress (APC) with over 40,000 votes.

The Returning Officer, Professor Andrew Haruna, at the early hours of Friday, declared the PDPs candidate, who was also a former acting governor of the state winner, having pulled 376,552 votes to defeat his APC counterpart who pulled 336,386 votes.

Earlier, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared the governorship poll in the state inconclusive.
